Welcome to
Selfredevelopment.org
The platform Selfredevelopment.org is an initiative from Wedevelopment to guide and educate societies in Mumbai towards the process of self redevelopment.
A majority of buildings in the city of Mumbai and other metros across India are more than a couple of decades old, their condition is generally dilapidated and usually kept together by a patchwork of repairs. Furthermore, builder-led redevelopment can be daunting and risky. Almost every week, newspapers carry articles of some redevelopment project which has been stuck due to various reasons.
Today, buildings and housing societies which are in the need for redevelopment have started exploring the option of self redevelopment. However, being a newer concpet, people find it difficult to gather all the required information at one place.
This portal has been created with a view to educate and empower such societies to undertake self redevelopment in Mumbai.
What is
Self Redevelopment?
Self Redevelopment can be understood as the DIY (do-it-yourself) style of redevelopment where the members of a housing society take up the responsibility of redevelopment of their old buildings in their own hands. This type of redevelopment of a housing society is far more beneficial and less risky than the more commonly known redevelopment by builders.
